Overview:
Street Reach of Johnston County is pleased to announce the launch of ReachHER: Compassion, Community, Recovery & Restoration, a structured six-week initiative designed to provide trauma-informed, holistic support to unsheltered and at-risk women in Johnston County.
ReachHER addresses both immediate and long-term needs through coordinated services that foster safety, stability, and recovery. The program is grounded in peer support, practical assistance, and individualized care, ensuring each participant is met with dignity and compassion.
Program Components Include:
Trauma & Recovery Support
Weekly peer-led group sessions and one-on-one coaching focused on trauma, domestic violence, and substance use recovery, supported by evidence-based curriculum and trained facilitators.Emergency Nutrition Support
Distribution of non-perishable food bags contingent upon class attendance or verified coaching session participation, reinforcing engagement and consistency.Health, Hygiene & Dignity Kits
Personal care kits distributed through the Resource Center and outreach efforts to promote self-worth and well-being.Safety & Connectivity
Provision of emergency-use phones (911 enabled) to participants facing communication barriers and safety risks.Critical Needs Support
Discretionary assistance to address barriers related to housing, employment, recovery, and personal safety, including support for IDs, transportation, and clothing.
Participant Access:
Participation is voluntary and available to all women who engage with the Street Reach Resource Center. Referrals are also welcomed from partner agencies including healthcare providers, re-entry programs, churches, and community organizations. The program is designed to meet each woman where she is, building trust and promoting individualized recovery pathways.
